Elbert G. Hutchins , age 93 of Rutherfordton died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at White Oak Manor Nursing Home.

A native of Rutherford County
he was the son of the late Tildon Hutchins and Mary Gettys Hutchins. He was a member of Southern Baptist Church. He was first married to the late Lucy Champion Hutchins. Elbert later remarried and enjoyed Bertha and her family.

He is survived by his wife: Bertha Ramsey Hutchins of Forest City

Patricia A. Rhodes and her husband Grady of Forest City
Kathy Corazza and her husband Fred of Smyrna, DE
Debbie Cordrey and her husband Stanley of Rutherfordton

Son
Larry G. Hutchins and his wife Jewel of Forest City

Betty Baynard of Bostic

Three Brothers:
John Hutchins
Clarence Hutchins,
Perry Hutchins, all of Caroleen

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2012 at McMahan's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at Southern Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2012 with the Rev. John Perry officiating. Mr Hutchins will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be held in Southern Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Southern Baptist Church Christian Life Center; 140 Church Street Rutherfordton NC 28139.
