Fire Dept. Emblem

Marshal Leroy Baynard , age 62, of Forest City, NC, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at his residence in Forest City.
He was retired as assistant chief from Forest City Fire and Rescue and was a charter member of Danieltown Fire Dept. Marshal graduated from Chase High School, class of 1969 and also worked at George White's Grocery in Danieltown. He was a member of Gray's Creek Baptist Church in Rutherfordton

He was the son of the late Junior Baynard

He is survived by his wife: Linda R. Baynard
One Daughter: Heather Ervin and husband Josh

Three Sons:
Adam Baynard of Forest City, Brian Baynard of Rutherfordton, Junior Pritchard of Rutherfordton

Jean Baynard of Forest City

One Sister:
Shirley Alley of Sandy Mush

Two Brothers:
Terry Baynard of Rutherfordton
David Baynard of Rutherfordton
Three Grandchildren: Alexis, Averey and Corbin Baynard.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 1, 2014 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be at Gray's Creek Baptist Church Family Life Center at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 2, 2014. Rev. Bryan Ezell, Rev. Bob Philbeck, and Chief Mark McCurry officiating. The body will lie in state 30 mins prior to the service. The Rutherford County Firefighter's Honor Guard will provide full Firefighter Honors to Mr. Baynard. Interment will be at Gray's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Online register at McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.
