John "Jake" Wilson, 71, of Boiling Springs, NC and formerly of Rutherfordton died Friday, October 25, 2013, at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Rutherford County he was the son of the late Adam and Ruth Wilson. He was a retired supervisor for Sonoco-Crellin. Jake was an avid fisherman and loved to fish as often as he could.

He is survived by his wife: Betty Wilson of Boiling Springs NC One Daughter:
Tonya Gantt and husband Jonathan of Boiling Springs, NC

One Son:
Jim Wilson and wife Robin of Rutherfordton

One Grandson-Conner Gantt

Three Brothers:
Bobby Wilson of Greenville, SC
Alvin Wilson of Rutherfordton
Boyce Wilson of Rutherfordton

The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, October 27, 2013 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The Funeral service will follow in McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 4:00 PM with Rev. Glen Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Union Methodist Church Cemetery in Rutherfordton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made Long Branch Road Baptist Church Building Fund 621 Long Branch Road Forest City NC 28043.
