Betty Yelton Alexander, age 82, of Charlotte, NC, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC .
She was a native of Rutherford County and a member of St. John's Methodist Church in Charlotte. Betty was the daughter of the late Charles and Nora Yelton. She was a graduate of R.S. Central High School and Kings Business School. She retired from the City of Charlotte, Purchasing Department after 30 ½ years.
Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard Yelton and Wayne Yelton and his wife Jean Yelton.

She is survived by her daughter, Alison A. Wilson and her husband Clifton T. Wilson and grandson, Clifton Thomas Wilson, Jr.
One brother: Dr. Ernest Yelton and his wife Midge Yelton
One sister: Frances Hamrick and her husband William Lewis Hamrick.
One sister in law: Naomi Yelton
Numerous nieces and nephews

The visitation will be held on Saturday March 1, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Rutherfordton from 10 to 10:45 AM. The funeral Service will follow at 11 AM in the church with Rev. Dr. Jack Knoespel officiating. Burial will be in the Centennial United Methodist Church Cemetery in Union Mills. Flowers are welcome or memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis TN 38105.
