Alice McMahan Walker, age 95, of Spindale, NC, died Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Hospice House of Rutherford County.

She was the daughter of the late John L. McMahan and the late Abi Hopper McMahan. Alice was the widow of the late Earl Walker. She was a member of Southern Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers. Alice worked in the shoe department at Stamey's and retired from Moore's in Rutherfordton. She was a member of the Thermal Belt Model A Club and the Model A Ford Club of America for 50 years.

She is survived by

Two Daughters:
Lynda Widener and her husband Dean of Rutherfordton, NC
Brenda Walker and her late husband John Small of Gastonia, NC

One Sister:
Elaine Armstrong of Texas

Two Grandchildren: Marc Widener, Adena Widener and her husband Chad Nazelrod.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 12, 2014 prior to the service at McMahan's. The Funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 12, 2014 with Rev. John Perry officiating. Interment will be at Southern Baptist Church Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Walker home immediately after the interment. Memorials may be made to Southern Baptist Church, General Fund; 140 Church St.; Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or to Hospice of Rutherford County; P O Box 336 Forest City, N C. Guest register at McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
